OHIO’S #1 SOURCE FOR ALL YOUR RADON NEEDS

Radon Systems is the radon industry leader in Ohio. With over 1,200 residential mitigation systems and over 400 new construction systems installed annually, Radon Systems is also one of the premiere radon mitigation companies in the country. Dan West, owner and President, started Radon Systems in 1985. After 17 successful years in the insulation business under the name of Insul-Tech, Inc., Dan sold the insulation portion of his business in order to devote his full attention to the radon issues in Ohio. As with Insul-Tech, Inc., Radon Systems is proud of its reputation of prompt, reliable service, quality installations, and attention to detail.

What makes Radon Systems different? Radon Systems is located in a modern office/warehouse building conveniently located in Westerville, Ohio. In our company, we have two licensed, full-time Radon Specialists with more than 30 years experience in radon gas testing and mitigation. Therefore, an experienced person is always available to answer your questions or concerns and respond in a timely manner. All Radon Systems technicians have been personally trained by Dan West and Brad Roebuck to properly install radon mitigation systems as required in the U.S. EPA Radon Mitigation Standards. Dan is also a Primary Radon Mitigation Instructor in Ohio, Indiana, and Michigan for the University of Minnesota. In addition, Dan has the NEHA (National Environmental Health Association) certification for both radon testing and mitigation. Brad Roebuck, a licensed Radon Specialist in Ohio, has over 16 years experience in designing and installing residential and commercial radon mitigation systems. Both Dan and Brad are members of AARST (American Association of Radon Scientists and Technologists) and OARP (Ohio Association of Radon Professionals). Radon Systems is a member of the Better Business Bureau, National Federation of Independent Business, and has been awarded the distinguished Super Service Award on Angie’s List for the past several years.

RADON SYSTEMS & DAN WEST HONORED WITH NATIONAL AWARD

Dan West received national recognition January 10, 2008 in Washington, D.C., for helping make Central Ohio a national leading model for the prevention of harmful human exposure to radon - a natural, odorless, and dangerous gas responsible for 15 percent of all lung cancer.

The American Association of Radon Scientists and Technologists (AARST) recognized Dan West at the United States Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) headquarters for the public health initiative he has lead to provide radon control systems in new homes. West has operated Radon Systems in Westerville since 1985 and installs radon control systems in about 400 new homes each year. In addition, he annually mitigates about 1,200 existing homes.
"It's an honor to be recognized by AARST and EPA for this important initiative to control radon in new homes", West said. "I consider it a great opportunity to help builders and new home buyers across the country to achieve further progress in protecting families from lung cancer risks caused by indoor radon exposure".

The awards event took place at EPA headquarters and was followed by a Radon Control in New Homes Round Table at Johns Hopkins University. At that event, West discussed strategies with other national experts to duplicate central Ohio successes in other states.

"The work of Dan West and other radon professionals is already reducing the loss of life from elevated indoor radon for hundreds of citizens each year", said William Angell, AARST president. "By expanding installation of radon prevention systems in all new homes, we can annually avert 200 additional lung cancer deaths each year."

Based upon independent assessments of the indoor radon risk by the National Academy of Sciences, the U.S. Surgeon General notes radon in homes is responsible for more then 20,000 deaths per year. The EPA estimates that one in fifteen homes in the U.S. contains levels of radon that need to be reduced - compared to one in four in Ohio homes.
